Extended School Activities

The curriculum is enhanced with visits, visitors and focus days. These can involve drama, music, science, art, sport, theatre trips, PSHCE (personal, social, health and citizenship education) activities, enterprise activities, anti-bullying, road safety awareness and regular community visits.

The school engages a movement therapist who works with small groups and individual pupils to improve self esteem, social skills, communication and co-ordination, and an art therapist and a drama therapist.
Opportunities are offered to pupils to take part in a range of lunchtime and after school activities. These include board games, guitar, choir, art, Ocarina, French, sports activities and a homework club for secondary pupils.  There are two Adventure Playgrounds and at lunchtimes structured activities and clubs are offered.  The Collett School Gym Club runs on Fridays from 3.30pm to 4.15pm at Sapphire Gym in Hemel Sports Centre. A ball skills club runs on Thursdays after school for Years 7 and 8. A summer holiday activity camp runs for a week during the summer holiday for 8 - 15 year olds.
Year 6 pupils are given the opportunity to spend a week at an Activity Centre each April. Years 8, 9 and 10 pupils have the opportunity each year to go on a residential trip abroad to France and Belgium and to an Activity Centre.
